Man and van – How to Choose wisely

As you may know, there are a number of ‘man and van’ companies operating within London. For those who have never had to look for this type of business before it can actually be quite difficult choosing the right company to work with. That is why I have put together this guide. On this page you are going to discover a few of the things that you will need to think about when selecting the right man and a van company for the job.

Firstly, you will need to find few removals  that are based where you live. If you know somebody that has used a man with a van service before, then do not hesitate to ask for recommendations (or warnings about which companies to steer clear of). You may also want to carry out a quick search using your favourite search engine or even have a flick through the phone book. Do not hesitate to read through review websites too! Basically you want to come up with a decent list of companies that you could potentially work with.

Next, it is time to get in touch with a couple of them. You can do this over the telephone. You are going to want to find out about the size of the vehicle that they use. After all, if their vehicle is not big enough to transport what you want them to transport then they are probably not going to be the ideal company for you (unless they are only going to be travelling a short distance). You may also want to find out a little bit about the prices that they charge for their service. If it is not reasonable quote and is not within your budget then once again you should keep looking to the right one! If you require other services (e.g. actually moving the items out of your property into their van) then do not forget to ask about them too.

Once you have identified a couple of man with a van companies that could potentially work for you, it is time to get in touch with them again. You will want to find out whether they have insurance or not. If they do not have insurance then steer clear. This will mean that your items are not in ‘safe hands’. I suggest that you only work with people who you have a ‘bond’ with. This means that you should hire a professional. If you are both on the same level then it is far easier to deal with any issues should they arise.
